About Wilmington, DE - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Wilmington, Delaware is found at the confluence of the Brandywine and Christiana Rivers, and it is the county seat of New Castle County. With about 72,000 residents, it is the largest city in the state. Wilmington’s large population and accessibility to other parts of the state have made it a business-friendly city, and the largest employers include Christiana Care Health System, DuPont, and AstraZeneca. There are also several colleges and universities found in Wilmington, including the University of Delaware – Wilmington Campus, Delaware College of Art & Design, and Springfield College.

As one of the most highly populated regions in the state, Wilmington is a major cultural center with a variety of attractions. There are many museums located here, including the Delaware Art Museum, Delaware Children’s Museum, and Rockwood Museum. Delaware Park offers horse racing, and the Wilmington Blue Rocks baseball team plays at the Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. Other top attractions include Nemours Mansion & Gardens, Bellevue State Park, the Wilmington Riverwalk, and the Grand Opera House.

Winter weather in Wilmington is milder than other parts of the Northeast. Average daily high temperatures in January reach about 40 degrees Fahrenheit, while it is possible to see thermostat readings into the 60s. However, overnight lows often fall below freezing, so the right gas or electric furnace is a necessity to keep indoor conditions comfortable. Without a reliable furnace in place, expensive home plumbing systems could be at risk of freeze-related damage.

During the summer months, conditions are markedly different. The area will experience a dramatic heat influx with high humidity. Average daily highs in July reach about 86 degrees, although many days see temperatures into the 90s.Most residents invest in a central air conditioner to stay comfortable at home, and units with a high SEER rating can help them to save on their monthly utility costs.
