About Smyrna, DE - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Smyrna, Delaware is a growing town found in portions of New Castle and Kent counties. It is located within the Dover, DE Metro Statistical Area. As of 2010, just over 10,000 people called this community home. Originally known as Duck Creek Cross Roads, the community’s current name was given in 1806 for the seaport of Smyrna that is found in present-day Turkey. In addition to its close proximity to Dover, Smyrna is only about 40 miles south of Wilmington.

Despite the modest size of Smyrna, there are several interesting things to see and do here. Beer and cocktail enthusiasts might enjoy a trip to Painted Stave Distilling or the Blue Earl Brewing Company. Woodland Beach has been called a hidden gem of the region and is a great place to spend time outdoors. The Xbox Family Fun Center is a popular destination for families with young children, and after a long day of activity, they might like to grab a meal at The Odd Fellows Café or Main Street Market.

The Smyrna area experiences four very different seasons throughout the year, although precipitation levels are fairly uniform. In the winter, severe storms with heavy snow are possible, but the area usually averages 20 inches per season. Daytime highs can reach the low-40s during January, but overnight lows will fall into the 20s. Without the right gas or electric furnace at home, indoor temperatures could plummet to dangerous levels.

Smyrna area winters tend to be hot with high humidity. July is the hottest month of the year, and average daily highs reach about 86 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat waves with temperatures into the 90s are common and can be dangerous for the elderly, children, and people with chronic medical conditions. The right central air conditioning unit will help Smyrna area residents to breathe easier and to stay comfortable throughout the season.
